Getting Started & Setup

I Do Not Know Where To Start With Flidu

Create your account, register your website, build either contact channels or an Ask AI assistant, publish what you built, then paste one snippet into your site.

Flidu puts one widget on your website. That widget can offer Contact (channels such as WhatsApp, a Contact Form or Business Hours), Ask AI (an assistant that answers from your own content), or both in one widget with two tabs. Follow the order below. It takes you from no account to a working widget, and each step links to its full guide.

Decide What The Widget Should Do First

Contact and Ask AI are two product lines with their own plans and limits, and each has a Free plan. You do not have to set up both on the first day.

  • Start with Contact if visitors mainly need a way to reach you. This is the Website Widgets product line.
  • Start with Ask AI if visitors keep asking questions your website already answers. This is the AI Chatbot product line.
  • Use both when you want one launcher with a Contact tab and an Ask AI tab. Build one side first, then connect the other.

Choose Contact, Ask AI, Or Both compares the three, and Pricing lists what each plan includes.

Step 1: Create Your Account And Workspace

Open the sign-up page, enter your email and type the 6-digit code Flidu sends you, or select Continue with Google. Flidu has no passwords. On Complete Your Account, enter your name, a Workspace Name and a Workspace Handle, tick both boxes and select Create Account and Workspace. Nothing exists until you select that button. Every screen is covered in Create Your Workspace And First Website.

Step 2: Register Your Website

Select Start Setup on the screen that confirms your account. The first step, Create your site, asks for a Site Name, your Domain and a Notification Email. Type the domain bare, such as example.com, and select Create Site. That registers the website and creates its first widget.

The next step offers a quick choice of channels. Select Skip for Now, choose Skip for Now again in the Skip setup? dialog, and build your channels in step 3 below, where each channel is saved as a draft and published when you are ready.

Ask AI Needs A Website TooAn assistant can only be installed on a website that is registered in your dashboard, so do this step even if Ask AI is all you want. If you skipped it, open Website Widgets in the sidebar and select Create Your First Site.

Step 3: Build The Side You Chose

Contact Channels

  1. Open Website Widgets in the sidebar and select your website.
  2. Open the Channels tab and select Add Channel.
  3. Pick a channel, for example WhatsApp, and select Add.
  4. Fill in the editor, then select Save as Draft. Saving a draft does not change what your site shows.
  5. Select Publish changes. The channel row now reads Published on your widget.

Website Widgets Free can publish messaging and link channels such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Leave a Review. Contact Form, Feedback, FAQ, Business Hours, Resources and Book Appointment are included from Starter, and Guided Form, Services & Pricing and Offers from Pro. A channel your plan does not include is marked Preview only. The full walk-through is Create A Website Widget.

An Ask AI Assistant

  1. Open AI Chatbots in the sidebar and select Create AI Chatbot.
  2. On Basics, enter a Chatbot Name and select Continue. This saves the assistant as a draft.
  3. On Data Sources, select Add Source, add a page of your site as a Website URL and press Start indexing on its card. Nothing is indexed until you do. Wait until the source reads Indexed, because the last step needs indexed content.
  4. On the last step, Preview & Connect, ask a few questions in the test chat. These count toward your plan’s monthly AI messages.
  5. Choose Install as Ask AI-only, or choose Add to an existing Website Widget, pick the widget in the dialog and select Connect Now. Then select Create AI Chatbot.

An assistant added to an existing widget joins it as a draft. Open the assistant’s Preview tab and select Publish Ask AI to make it live. See Create Your AI Assistant.

Step 4: Install The Snippet And Check It

  1. Open Website Widgets, select your website and open the Install tab. An Ask AI-only install has its own snippet: open the assistant’s Preview tab and select Get install code instead.
  2. Select Copy. The snippet is a single script tag that carries this widget’s own key, so copy it and do not retype it.
  3. Paste it once, before the closing </body> tag of your site or in your website builder’s footer code area.
  4. Open a page of your site, return to the Install tab and select Verify Installation.

The status reads Not detected yet until your site has loaded the script. Then it confirms the installation and shows when the widget was last detected. One snippet serves both tabs: adding Ask AI to a widget that is already installed needs no new snippet. Placement is covered in Install Flidu On Your Website.

Publish Before You InstallYour first widget is published as soon as it is created, but a channel goes live only when you publish it. Publish at least one channel, or publish Ask AI, before you paste the snippet.

What A Finished Setup Looks Like

  • Channel rows on the Channels tab read Published on your widget.
  • For Ask AI, the Connection section of the assistant’s Preview tab shows Published.
  • The Install card on the widget’s Overview tab reads Live on followed by your domain.
  • Your site shows the launcher, and opening it shows what you published.
