Install Flidu On Your Website

Every Flidu widget is installed with its own single snippet. This article covers copying the snippet from the dashboard, placing it on your website, and verifying the widget is live — the same three steps for Contact, Ask AI, or both.

Before You Start

You will need three things. Everything else — channels, appearance, Ask AI sources — can be changed after installation without touching the script again.

A Flidu account with a workspace and at least one website added.
A created Website Widget or AI Assistant (the widget you want to show).
Access to your website’s HTML or your platform’s custom-code area.
Note. Haven’t created a widget yet? The Setup Guide walks through workspace, website, and widget creation first.

Step 1: Get Your Installation Script

In the dashboard, open your widget and go to its Install tab. It shows the exact snippet with your widget key already filled in, a Copy button, and the live install status.

Install Widget
<script defer src="https://flidu.com/widget.js" data-widget="YOUR_WIDGET_KEY"></script>Example
This mirrors the Install tab in your dashboard. The data-widget value is your widget key — a stable public identifier for one widget configuration — so always copy the exact snippet shown there rather than retyping this example.
Tip. Contact, Ask AI, or both load from the same snippet inside one widget — no separate Contact and AI scripts. A website can run more than one widget (for example page-specific widgets), and each widget has its own snippet and key.
Note. Some snippets use a data-site attribute instead of data-widget, including the one shown during first-time setup. Both work: data-site loads the website’s default widget, and data-widget loads one specific widget. The Install tab always shows the data-widget snippet.

Step 2: Add The Script To Your Website

Paste the script just before the closing </body> tag so it loads after your page content:

index.htmlExample — copy your own snippet from the Install tab
    ...your page content...

    <!-- Flidu widget -->
    <script defer src="https://flidu.com/widget.js"
      data-widget="YOUR_WIDGET_KEY"></script>
  </body>
</html>

On a hosted platform, paste the snippet unchanged into its custom-code area instead of editing HTML directly. The placement idea is the same on WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Shopify, Squarespace, and custom sites: add the script once, site-wide, in the area your platform provides for body-end or footer code.

Important. Add your widget’s snippet site-wide unless it is a page-specific widget — targeting rules control where its Contact side shows. If the widget also carries Ask AI, the launcher still appears and opens Ask AI, so leave the snippet off pages where you want nothing at all. Removing a snippet removes only the widget that snippet loads; any other widget snippets on the site keep working.

Step 3: Verify The Installation

Open your website in a new tab after publishing your changes. You should see:

The launcher appears in the corner you chose in Appearance.
Opening it shows your channels, Ask AI, or both — matching your dashboard preview.
On the widget’s Install tab, press Verify Installation: “Not detected yet” changes to a success message with a “Last detected” time. The Overview tab’s Install card then reads “Live on” followed by your domain.
Troubleshooting. Launcher not showing? Clear your cache, check the script is on the published site (not a draft), and confirm your widget is published and targeted to the page you are viewing. The full checklist is in Flidu Widget Is Not Appearing On My Website.

Managing The Widget After Install

From here, the script never changes. Channels, appearance, targeting, Ask AI sources, and publishing are all managed in the dashboard — changes go live on your website without a reinstall. Where your plan includes them, results appear in analytics and, from Business on each product line, in the Data Hub — always kept separate per product line.

Tip. Running several widgets or websites? Each widget gets its own snippet and key. To keep client records and billing apart, use a separate workspace per client — each additional workspace needs its own paid plan.
