Getting Started

Create Your Workspace And First Website

Sign up with an emailed code or Google, name your workspace, then register the website your widget will run on. This guide follows every screen in order.

A Flidu account is created in three short screens, and the third one creates your workspace. A short setup then registers the website your widget will run on. Your account and workspace are created only when you confirm on that third screen, so nothing exists before then.

What You Need

  • An email address you can open right now, or a Google account. Flidu has no passwords: you sign in with a 6-digit code sent by email, or with Google.
  • A name for your workspace, usually your business or agency name.
  • Your website’s domain, such as example.com, and the email address that should receive form messages.

Step 1: Start With Your Email

  1. Open the sign-up page. The screen is headed Create Your Flidu Account.
  2. Enter your address in Email Address and select Send Verification Code.
  3. Or select Continue with Google and choose your account on Google’s own screen. Google confirms your email, so you skip the code and go straight to step 3, where the name from your Google account is filled in for you to edit.

Step 2: Verify The Code

Flidu emails a 6-digit code to the address you entered. On Verify Your Email, type it into the six boxes and select Verify Email. The code expires in 10 minutes and works once. When it is accepted you see Email Verified; select Continue.

If the code has not arrived or has expired, the link under the boxes sends a new one after a short countdown, and only the newest code works. Change Email takes you back to step 1. If that address already has a Flidu account, the email holds a sign-in code instead, and entering it signs you in to the account you already have.

Step 3: Name Your Workspace

The screen Complete Your Account shows your verified email, which cannot be edited here, and asks for:

  • First Name and Last Name.
  • Workspace Name: the name shown in your dashboard, for example your business name.
  • Workspace Handle: a unique identifier for the workspace. Use 4–40 lowercase letters, numbers or hyphens, starting and ending with a letter or number. Flidu checks it as you type and tells you whether it is available.
  • Two tick boxes: one to agree to the Terms of Service and one to confirm you have read the Privacy Policy.

Select Create Account and Workspace. The next screen, Account and Workspace Created, lists your workspace name, its handle and your role, which is Owner.

What A Workspace HoldsA workspace has its own websites, widgets, AI assistants, team, plans and usage. Your first workspace is free to keep; each additional workspace needs a paid plan of its own. You can rename it later in Workspace Settings, where the handle is called Workspace Username.

Step 4: Register Your First Website

Select Start Setup. A three-step setup opens, and its first step, Create your site, registers the website.

  1. Site Name: the name this website has in your dashboard.
  2. Domain: type it bare, such as example.com, without https://. A leading www. is removed for you, and a green line under the field shows the domain as it will be saved.
  3. Notification Email: where form and feedback submissions are sent.
  4. Select Create Site.

All three fields are required. Creating the site also creates its first widget, titled Contact Us and placed in the bottom-right corner. You can change both later on the widget’s Appearance tab, and the site name, domain and notification email on its Settings tab.

After The First Step

Steps 2 and 3 of the setup offer a quick choice of channels and the install snippet. Each has a way out: Skip for Now on the channel step and Skip Verification on the install step. Your website and its widget already exist by then, so leaving the setup loses nothing.

The rest of these guides build channels in the Channel Builder, on the widget’s Channels tab, where every channel is saved as a draft and goes live only when you publish it, and they take the snippet from the widget’s Install tab. To follow them, select Skip for Now on the channel step, choose Skip for Now again in the dialog that asks Skip setup?, then open Website Widgets in the sidebar and select your website. Continue with Create A Website Widget.

  • If you already chose channels during the setup, open the widget’s Channels tab to review them, then add each channel you want from Add Channel.
  • If you selected Skip for Now on the first step, no website exists yet. Open Website Widgets and select Create Your First Site, which opens the five-step New Website Widget flow.

The website limit comes from the workspace’s Website Widgets plan; the AI Chatbot plan does not change it. Plans are compared on the Pricing page.

If Something Does Not Work

  • The code never arrives. See My Sign-In Code Is Not Arriving.
  • That handle is already in use. Handles are unique across Flidu. Try a variation until the field confirms it is available.
  • Your verification expired. Select Verify Email Again on the completion screen. What you typed stays filled in.
  • You already have a Flidu account. An account with that email exists, so a second one is not created. Select Sign In Instead.
  • This domain is already in use. The domain is already registered in your account. Open it from Website Widgets instead of creating it again.
