My Sign-In Code Is Not Arriving
A code is sent only to an address that already has a Flidu account, it lasts 10 minutes, and only the newest one works. Check the address and your spam folder, then ask for a new code.
Flidu signs you in with a 6-digit code sent by email. When the code does not arrive, the cause is usually one of four things: the address has no Flidu account, the email went to another folder, you are looking at an older email, or too many codes were requested in a short time. Check them in this order.
How Sign-In Codes Work
- The code has 6 digits, expires in 10 minutes and works once.
- Asking for another code replaces the one before it. Only the newest code works.
- The sign-in email has the subject Your Flidu sign-in code. While you are creating an account, the subject is Verify your email address for Flidu, unless the address already has an account, in which case you get the sign-in email instead.
- A sign-in code is sent only to an address that already has a Flidu account. Signing in never creates one.
The Address Has No Flidu Account
This is the most common cause. After you select Email Me a Code, the next screen says a code is on its way if an account exists for that address. For an address with no account, no email is sent, and the screen looks the same.
- Read the address shown in bold on the code screen. If it has a typo, select Change Email.
- Try the other addresses you use, such as a work one and a personal one. Your account belongs to the address you verified when you signed up.
- If you signed up with Google, your account is under the email of that Google account.
- If you changed your sign-in email in Profile Settings, the code goes to the new address.
- If you started signing up but never selected Create Account and Workspace, no account was created. Go through the sign-up page again.
The Email Went To Another Folder
- Search your mailbox for the subject Your Flidu sign-in code.
- Look in spam, junk and any tabs or folders your mail app sorts messages into.
- If you find it there, mark it as not spam so later codes reach your inbox.
- On a work mailbox, ask your email administrator whether messages from Flidu are being held before they reach you.
You Are Using An Older Or Expired Code
If you asked for a code more than once, the earlier emails no longer work. Each email lists a Requested At time, shown in UTC, so open the latest one. The code screen tells you what went wrong.
| Message On The Code Screen | What To Do |
|---|---|
| That code isn’t right. Check the newest email and try again. | Use the code from the newest email. The message shows how many attempts are left. |
| Too many attempts — request a new code | Three wrong entries cancel the code. Send a new one. |
| This code has expired. Request a new one below. | More than 10 minutes passed. Send a new one. |
Too Many Codes Were Requested
The link under the code boxes that sends another code is switched off for one minute after each email and shows a countdown. If you ask for several codes in a short time, Flidu pauses new requests and shows Too many code requests with the time left. Wait for the countdown to finish, ask once, and wait for that email.
Two other messages can appear when you ask for a code. We couldn’t send the code right now means the request did not go through: try again in a moment. Verification check failed — try again means Flidu could not confirm that the request came from a browser: reload the page and try once more.
Sign In Another Way
- Continue with Google. This works when your Google account uses the same email address as your Flidu account. The first time, Flidu connects the two and tells you so. A Google account with a different address shows No Flidu Account for This Google Account.
- Use a Passkey. If you added a passkey in Profile Settings earlier, select Continue with Email, enter your address and select Use a Passkey. No code is needed.
What A Correct Result Looks Like
The email arrives, you type the six digits on Enter Your 6-Digit Code and select Verify and Continue, and your dashboard opens. If two-factor protection is on, one more screen asks for your second method first. See I Lost Access To My Two-Step Verification if you cannot complete it.
If no code arrives after all of these checks, contact Flidu and include the address you are trying to sign in with.
