My Dashboard Changes Are Not Showing On My Website
Most changes are saved as a draft and reach your site only after you publish them. Reload the page, then check the channel, the visibility settings and the widget state.
Most settings in Flidu have two versions: the draft you edit in the dashboard and the live version your visitors see. Saving updates the draft. Publishing updates the live version. When a change is missing from your site, it is almost always saved but not published, or it was made in a different widget from the one that is installed. Check the points below in order.
Reload Your Website First
The installed script asks Flidu for the widget’s current settings each time a page loads. A page that was already open does not update by itself, so reload your site, or open it in a new tab, before you check anything else. You never need to copy or paste the snippet again after a change.
How Each Kind Of Change Goes Live
| What You Changed | How It Reaches Your Site |
|---|---|
| A channel’s content or settings | Save as Draft, then Publish changes in the channel editor. |
| Channel order or grouping | Saved as a draft. Select Publish order or Publish layout on the Channels tab. |
| Visibility & Targeting settings | Save Changes, then Publish Changes on the card, or Publish at the foot of the tab. |
| Brand Color, Widget Theme, Widget Title or Position | Applied as soon as you change them. There is no publish step. |
| An Ask AI assistant added to a widget | Publish Ask AI on the assistant’s Preview tab. |
| The website content Ask AI answers from | Recrawl on the source. Flidu does not re-read your site by itself. |
A Channel Is Still A Draft
Open Website Widgets, select your website and open the Channels tab. Every channel row shows its state.
| Row Status | Line Under The Name | What Visitors Get |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Draft · not on your widget yet | Nothing. The channel was never published. |
| Live · edited | Live · draft changes not published yet | The older published version. |
| Live | Published on your widget | The version you saved. |
| Off | Turned off · not on your widget | Nothing. It was published, then switched off. |
For a Draft or Live · edited row, select Edit, then Publish changes. If that button is unavailable, either the editor has changes you have not saved with Save as Draft, or Enabled in draft is off and needs to be turned on and saved first. An Off row comes back with the switch on the row. On the Overview tab, Unpublished drafts counts the channels that still have changes waiting to be published.
A row marked Preview only belongs to a channel your plan does not include. You can build and save it, but it cannot be published on your current plan. See A Channel Is Locked Or Marked Premium.
Visibility Settings Are Saved But Not Published
Settings on the Visibility & Targeting tab, such as Widget Visibility by Device or Page Targeting, are saved first and published separately. A saved card that has not been published says Draft settings are saved but not live yet. Publish to apply them to your widget. Select Publish Changes. If the publish buttons are unavailable, look for a switched-on setting marked Preview only: turn it off, or move to the plan that includes it, then publish.
The Widget Is In Draft Or The Website Is Switched Off
Open the widget’s Overview tab and read the status line in the Install card.
- Draft · not live yet: the widget itself is a draft, so nothing is sent to your site for it. In the Website Widgets card on the same tab, select Publish.
- Website paused · not live: the website is switched off. Open the Settings tab and turn Site Status back on.
- A line starting Published · not seen on: the widget is live, but no page carrying its snippet has loaded yet. Follow Verify Your Installation.
You Edited A Different Widget
A website can hold several widgets, and each one has its own channels, appearance and snippet. Changes to one widget never reach another. Open the Install tab of the widget you edited and compare its snippet with the one on your site. If they differ, either make your changes in the widget that is installed, or replace the snippet on your site with the one from the widget you edited.
Ask AI Changes
- The Ask AI tab is not on your site. Connecting an assistant to a widget adds it as a draft. Open the assistant’s Preview tab and select Publish Ask AI in the Connection section. See The Ask AI Tab Is Missing From My Widget.
- Answers still describe old content. Ask AI re-reads a source only when you press Recrawl on its card on the Data Sources tab. See Ask AI Gave A Wrong Or Outdated Answer.
What A Correct Result Looks Like
The channel row reads Published on your widget, the Install card on the Overview tab reads Live on followed by your domain, and a fresh load of your site shows the change. If the widget does not appear at all, work through the widget not showing checks.
