A Channel Is Locked Or Marked Premium
A lock, a plan tag or a premium label marks a channel or option your Website Widgets plan does not publish yet. Most can still be built as a draft. Find the label you see and what unlocks it.
You can add and set up every channel type on any Website Widgets plan. What the plan decides is whether a channel, or an option inside it, can be published to your site. A lock, a plan tag or the word premium in the Channel Builder marks something your plan does not publish yet. In most cases you can build it as a draft now and publish it after an upgrade, and nothing you built is lost. Find the label you see below.
Preview Only On A Channel
What you see. A Preview only tag next to the channel in the Add a Channel drawer. On the channel’s row in the Channel Builder, a Preview only badge, a line such as "Preview available · Included from Starter" and an Upgrade button. Inside the editor, a notice that this is a premium channel visitors will not see until you upgrade.
Why. Your current Website Widgets plan does not include that channel type.
| Channel | Publishes From |
|---|---|
| WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram DM, Find Us / Maps, Leave a Review, Custom Link | Free |
| Contact Form, Feedback, FAQ, Business Hours, Book Appointment, Resources | Starter |
| Services & Pricing, Offers, Guided Form | Pro |
What to do. Keep building the draft. When you are ready, click Upgrade on the row to open Billing and move the workspace to a plan that includes the channel. Then open the channel with Edit and click Publish changes. Your draft is kept through the upgrade. Channels follow the Website Widgets plan only: an AI Chatbot plan does not unlock them, and Bundle & Save changes the price only. Compare plans on Pricing.
A Lock Or Plan Tag Inside A Channel
Some options inside channels you can already publish belong to a higher plan. Apart from the Channel Title, you can set each one up as a draft, and it publishes once the workspace is on the plan that includes it.
- Channel Title with a Starter + tag. On Free the title is locked and channels keep their default names. Renaming starts on Starter. A Custom Link always has its own label.
- Multiple Agents with a lock, in WhatsApp and Telegram. You can still select it and add agents, and the editor tells you the setup is saved as a draft. Publishing more than one agent starts on Starter.
- A note that you have reached your plan’s agent limit. One channel publishes up to 2 agents on Starter, 5 on Pro, 20 on Business and 100 on Agency. See WhatsApp: Single And Multiple Agents.
- Multiple Locations with a Pro + tag, in Find Us / Maps. More than one location publishes from Pro.
- Add Custom Platform with a Starter + tag, in Leave a Review. Free publishes one built-in review platform. Custom platforms start on Starter.
- An Instance tag on a channel row. This is a second channel of the same type in one widget. It can be created as a draft on any plan and published from Business.
A Lock On Channel Groups / Sections
Sections group your channels under titled headings, and they are included from Business. On Free and Starter the Channel Groups / Sections card carries a lock with Business and offers View Example and Upgrade; sections cannot be created there. On Pro the card reads Preview · Pro: you can create sections as drafts with Add Section but not publish them. See Channel Order And Grouping.
Publish Blocked On A Channel Your Plan Includes
If you click Publish changes and the editor answers Publish blocked, the draft contains something the current plan does not publish. Your site is left as it was and the draft is kept. Look for one of these:
- Multiple Agents mode on Free, or more enabled agents than the plan publishes.
- More than one location switched on below Pro.
- More than one review platform, a custom review platform, or an uploaded icon image on Free.
- A second channel of the same type below Business.
Change that one thing and click Save as Draft, or move to a plan that includes it, then publish again.
Temporarily Limited On A Live Channel
This label is about usage, not about what your plan includes. When the month’s visitors pass your plan’s premium-feature limit, the Channels tab shows a banner that starts "Premium channels are temporarily limited", and the affected rows read Temporarily limited. Contact Form, Feedback, FAQ, Business Hours, Book Appointment, Services & Pricing, Resources, Offers and Guided Form show as temporarily unavailable in your widget, and extra messaging agents are paused. WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram DM, Find Us / Maps, Leave a Review and Custom Link keep working.
The channels return when you upgrade or when the period resets. Until then, changes to those channels are saved as drafts. See Widget Limits And Visitor Counting.
Where To See Everything At Once
On the Channels tab, the Plan Allowances card below the channel list shows your plan’s name and what this widget’s channels can do on it. Rows such as premium channels, multiple instances and channel groups read Included, Preview only or Not available, and the agent rows show how many agents the plan publishes. Use it to check what your current plan covers before you open Billing. Billing is managed by the workspace Owner, or by an Admin the Owner has given billing access.
A correct result looks like this: after you publish, the row’s badge reads Live in place of Preview only, its line reads "Published on your widget", and the channel appears on your site the next time a page loads.
