Usage Limits, Grace Thresholds, And What Happens Next

What happens as a workspace nears or passes a plan limit: the staged Website Widgets visitor thresholds, the hard cap on AI messages, capacity limits, and when each one resets.

Flidu plans carry two kinds of limit. Monthly usage is counted through the month and starts again: Website Widgets visitors and AI messages. Capacity is a fixed number of things you can have: websites, widget slots, assistants, indexed pages and team seats. Only the Website Widgets visitor allowance has staged thresholds with room above 100%. Everything else is a hard cap. Where a limit affects the live widget, the only message a visitor sees is “This feature is temporarily unavailable.”

Website Widgets Visitor Stages

Visitors are counted for the whole workspace against the monthly allowance of your Website Widgets plan. Passing the allowance does not switch your widget off. Instead, four stages apply as the percentage rises:

Allowance UsedWhat The Dashboard SaysWhat Changes
80%Approaching your monthly visitor limit.Nothing. This is a warning.
100%Over your monthly visitor limit.Nothing yet. From 100% to 120% is a grace band: the widget and every feature keep working.
120%Website Widgets analytics are paused until your visitor usage resets or you upgrade.Detailed Website Widgets analytics stop being collected. The gap is not filled in later. Visitor counting continues and the widget keeps working.
150%Some premium Website Widgets features are limited until your visitor usage resets or you upgrade.Premium features are temporarily unavailable on the live widget. Core channels keep working.

These percentages are the same on Free, Starter, Pro, Business and Agency. Enterprise thresholds are set in your agreement. On the Website Widgets tab in Billing, a warning card appears from 80% with a bar marked Normal, 80% warning, 100% grace and 120% paused. Widget Limits And Visitor Counting explains how a visitor is counted.

What The 150% Stage Affects

  • Premium channels. Contact Form, Feedback Form, FAQ, Business Hours, Book Appointment, Services & Pricing, Resources, Offers and Guided Form stay listed in the widget but are muted and show “This feature is temporarily unavailable.” Form submissions are not accepted while this lasts.
  • Extra messaging agents. WhatsApp and Telegram keep working with their first agent only.
  • Premium visibility and presentation features. Those you have switched on are paused on the live widget. The widget’s Visibility & Targeting tab lists which ones.
  • Publishing. Changes that turn a premium feature on can be saved as a draft but not published until the stage ends.

Every other channel keeps working, and so does Ask AI. The Channels tab shows a notice headed Premium channels are temporarily limited while the stage applies. Everything returns by itself when the count resets or you upgrade Website Widgets.

AI Messages Are A Hard Cap

AI messages are counted for the workspace against the monthly allowance of your AI Chatbot plan. There is no grace band:

  • At 80% the dashboard marks the count as near its limit, and the assistant’s Usage tab tells you the percentage used.
  • At 100% Ask AI stops answering until the count resets or you upgrade. Visitors see only “This feature is temporarily unavailable.” The Ask AI tab stays in the widget, and Contact channels in the same widget keep working.
  • No overage is charged. Flidu does not bill extra messages on self-serve plans.

See AI Chatbot Allowances for what counts as a message, and I Reached My Monthly AI Message Limit for what to do.

Capacity Limits Do Not Reset

Capacity limits apply when you try to add something. When one is full, the dashboard stops offering the next item or refuses it, and nothing that is already live changes.

  • Published and draft widgets. A Widget limit reached dialog shows what is used, the limit and what remains.
  • Assistants. On the AI Chatbots page, Upgrade AI Chatbot replaces Create AI Chatbot.
  • Indexed pages. Further indexing for that assistant is refused with “Indexed page limit reached.”
  • Team seats. Team shows “You’ve reached the seat limit for this workspace” and new invitations are blocked.

You make room by removing something you no longer need or by upgrading the product line the limit belongs to. If a downgrade leaves a team larger than the new seat limit, existing members stay, and new invitations are blocked until you upgrade or remove members.

When Limits Reset Or Lift

  • Monthly counts follow the calendar month in UTC, not your billing date. Visitors and AI messages both start again on the first day of the next month. Billing shows the reset date beside each count.
  • An upgrade lifts a limit as soon as the payment provider confirms it. You do not have to wait for the month to end, unless you scheduled the change for your next billing date.
  • Upgrade the right product line. A larger AI Chatbot plan does not raise the visitor allowance, and a larger Website Widgets plan does not add AI messages. Bundle & Save changes price only.
  • Paused analytics do not come back for the paused days. Collection resumes from the reset or the upgrade.

Emails About Usage

Flidu sends usage emails after a workspace reaches these stages. The Owner is always included. The 80% and 100% warnings for visitors and for AI messages also go to Admins with billing access. The analytics-paused and premium-feature notices, and the emails saying they have returned, go to every Admin. Each stage is announced once in a month, and if usage passes several stages at once you receive only the email for the highest. The emails are not instant, so do not rely on them alone: Billing always shows the current stage.

If The Stage Looks Wrong

  • The visitor figure shows a dash. Monthly visitor usage is still being calculated. Refresh a little later.
  • You upgraded but the limit has not moved. The plan changes when the payment is confirmed. See I Paid But My Plan Has Not Updated.
  • Channels are greyed out for visitors. Check the visitor percentage in Billing. See My Widget Reached Its Monthly Visitor Limit.
  • Ask AI is unavailable but visitors are well under the allowance. Ask AI follows AI messages, not visitors. Open the assistant’s Usage tab.
