AI Chatbot Allowances: Messages, Indexed Pages, And Assistants
An AI Chatbot plan sets three allowances for a workspace: assistants, AI messages per month and indexed pages per assistant. See what counts and what happens at each limit.
Free uses Claude Haiku 5.5 (anthropic/claude-haiku-5.5). Starter, Pro, Business and all Agency presets use GPT-6 Luna (openai/gpt-6-luna). Enterprise, Founder and Premium access use their explicitly saved model; new admin selections default to Luna. No automatic stronger-model escalation or extra advanced-message quota is included. Plans differ in message allowances, answer length, source context, and features. Sign-in and sign-up are currently unavailable while we prepare account access.
Your AI Chatbot plan sets three numbers: how many assistants the workspace can have, how many AI messages it can use each month, and how many website pages each assistant can index. They belong to the AI Chatbot product line only. A Website Widgets plan does not change them, and Website Widgets visitors are counted separately.

AI Messages
An AI message is one question handled by Ask AI. The allowance is shared by every assistant in the workspace.
- Visitor questions count. That includes a question sent by tapping a suggested question.
- Your own test questions count. Questions you ask in an assistant’s Preview tab use the same allowance as your visitors.
- Opening the widget does not count. A visitor who looks at the Ask AI tab without sending a question uses nothing.
- The month is a calendar month in UTC. The count starts again on the first day of the next month, and the dashboard shows the reset date. Unused messages do not carry over.
When the allowance is used up, Ask AI stops answering until the count resets or you upgrade. Visitors see only “This feature is temporarily unavailable.” The Ask AI tab stays in the widget, and Contact channels in the same widget keep working because they follow your Website Widgets plan. Preview is blocked too, with “You’ve used all of your AI messages this month.” Flidu does not charge for extra messages on self-serve plans.
Indexed Pages
Indexed pages are the website pages an assistant can use as source content for its answers. The limit applies to each assistant separately.
- Every website page an assistant indexes counts toward its limit.
- A page you later set to Ignore keeps its place in the count. Ignoring pages does not make room for more.
- A crawl reads a limited batch of pages for each source, and never more than the allowance the assistant has left.
- At the limit, further indexing for that assistant is refused with “Indexed page limit reached.” Pages already indexed keep working.
Each plan also limits how many sources an assistant can hold. See Add Website Data Sources and Review Indexed Pages.
Assistants
- Every assistant that is not archived counts, including drafts you have not published yet.
- An archived assistant no longer counts toward the plan, and it can be restored later.
- When the workspace is at its limit, the AI Chatbots page shows Upgrade AI Chatbot in place of Create AI Chatbot.
- An assistant installed as Ask AI-only uses no Website Widgets slot. It is covered by the AI Chatbot plan alone.
Where To Check Your Usage
- Billing, Overview tab. The AI Chatbot card shows AI Messages used against the allowance with the reset date, and tiles for Assistants and Pages.
- Billing, AI Chatbot tab. The current plan card shows AI assistants, AI messages and Indexed pages, with the line Messages reset and a date.
- An assistant’s Usage tab. Open AI Chatbots, open the assistant, and select Usage. It shows that assistant’s Indexed pages against the per-assistant limit, the workspace’s AI messages, and the Reset date.
Raise An Allowance
- Open Billing and select the AI Chatbot tab.
- On Free, click Upgrade AI Plan on the current plan card. On any plan, use a plan card’s own button under AI Chatbot Plans, such as Choose Pro.
- Select the plan, or an Agency preset, and complete the change.
With a new paid plan or an immediate change, the higher allowances apply as soon as the payment provider confirms it, even in the middle of a month. A change scheduled for the next billing date applies then. Upgrading Website Widgets or activating Bundle & Save does not raise any AI Chatbot allowance. Upgrades, Downgrades, And Proration covers the steps and timing.
If The Numbers Do Not Add Up
- Messages were used although the site had no visitors. Preview questions count. Check how many you asked while testing.
- Ask AI stopped answering mid-month. Open the assistant’s Usage tab. If it says you have reached your AI message limit, see I Reached My Monthly AI Message Limit.
- Indexing stops before your whole site is covered. A crawl takes a limited batch of pages per source. Add the pages you need as further sources, for example in a Manual URL List, within your plan’s source count and the pages the assistant has left.
- The usage card will not load. AI Chatbot usage is shown to workspace Owners and Admins. Otherwise refresh after a moment.
