FAQ, Business Hours, And Resources

Three content channels that inform visitors inside the widget: a list of FAQs, your weekly opening hours, and links to guides or files. All three publish from Website Widgets Starter.

FAQ, Business Hours and Resources are content channels. They show information inside the widget instead of starting a conversation. All three are included from Website Widgets Starter. On Free you can add them and fill them in, but the row is marked Preview only and visitors do not see it.

Where To Find These Channels

Open Website Widgets in the dashboard sidebar, open your website, and go to the Channels tab. In the Channel Builder card, click Add Channel. FAQ, Business Hours and Resources are listed under Content: click Add next to the one you want. Fill it in, click Save as Draft, then Publish changes. Nothing reaches your site until you publish.

FAQ

The FAQ channel is a list of questions and answers that you write yourself.

  1. In the FAQ editor, click Add Question.
  2. Enter the Question and the Answer. Both are required.
  3. Click Back to list and repeat for each question.
  4. Drag the rows into the order you want. Use the switch on a row to hide a question without deleting it.

At least one question has to be switched on before the channel can be published. An answer is plain text and is shown as one paragraph, so keep each answer short and limited to one idea.

In the widget, the row reads "FAQ" with "Quick answers" under it unless you set your own Channel Title or Description. Tapping it opens the list. Tapping a question opens its answer underneath, and opening another question closes the first.

FAQ Is Not Ask AIThe FAQ channel shows only the questions you type here. Ask AI is a separate product line that answers from your website content and added sources. See Choose Contact, Ask AI, Or Both.

Business Hours

The Business Hours channel displays your weekly schedule. It is display only: it does not hide the widget, switch other channels off or hold messages back.

  1. Under Availability Mode, choose Open 24/7 or Custom hours. A new channel starts with every day switched off.
  2. For custom hours, switch on each day you are open and set its from and until times. Each day takes one time range, and the closing time has to be later the same day.
  3. Use the shortcuts to save typing: Apply Monday to weekdays copies Monday to Tuesday through Friday, and the 24 hours box marks a single day as open all day.
  4. Enter a Timezone as a zone name such as Asia/Kolkata. It is required.
  5. Optional: add a Note for anything the weekly grid cannot say, such as "Closed on public holidays".

A visitor who opens Business Hours sees your week from Monday to Sunday, with each day’s hours or "Closed", today picked out, and your note underneath. The hours appear as you typed them and are not converted for visitors elsewhere, so name your time zone in the Note if you serve customers in other regions.

To control when the widget’s contact channels appear by day and time, use the separate schedule described in Date And Business-Hours Rules. The two settings do not affect each other.

Resources

The Resources channel links visitors to pages or files that already live on the web, such as guides, articles, videos and downloads. It stores links only and does not host files.

  1. In the Resources editor, click Add resource.
  2. Pick a Resource Type: Link, Guide, Article, Video or Download.
  3. Enter the Title and the URL. The URL has to be a public web address.
  4. Optional: add a Short Description, and use Upload Image if you want the resource to carry your own icon.
  5. Set Open in New Tab the way you want it, and leave Show on Widget on.
  6. Click Back to list, add the rest, and drag the rows into order.

With one visible resource, the Resources row opens that link directly. With two or more, the row opens a list. Each entry shows the title with the short description under it, or the resource type when there is no description.

Plan Limits

  • FAQ, Business Hours and Resources publish from Website Widgets Starter. On Free they are preview only. See Premium Channel Previews.
  • Renaming a Channel Title also needs Starter or higher.
  • A second channel of the same type in one widget, for example two FAQ lists, can be published from Business.
  • These plans are Website Widgets plans. An AI Chatbot plan does not unlock them. Compare plans on Pricing.

If Something Does Not Show

  • The row is missing from the widget. Check the channel’s row in the Channel Builder. Draft means it was never published, Off means it was published and then turned off, and Preview only means the current plan does not include it. If the row is in the widget but shows old content, Live · edited means newer changes are waiting for Publish changes.
  • The draft will not save. Every FAQ entry needs a Question and an Answer. Every resource needs a Title and a URL that is a public web address. Business Hours needs a valid Timezone and, on every open day, a closing time later than the opening time.
  • Publishing is refused. FAQ needs at least one question switched on, and Resources needs at least one resource with Show on Widget on.
  • The row says "This feature is temporarily unavailable." The workspace has gone far past its monthly visitor allowance. The channel returns after an upgrade or when the period resets. See Widget Limits And Visitor Counting.
