Book Appointment Hand-Off

The Book Appointment channel sends visitors from your widget to your own scheduling page. See how to set it up, what visitors see, and what the hand-off does not do.

The Book Appointment channel puts a booking row in your widget. A visitor taps it, reads a short intro, and presses a button that opens your scheduling page in a new tab. It is a hand-off: the booking itself happens on the page you link to. Flidu does not show a calendar, offer time slots, take the booking or send confirmations.

Before You Start

  • Have the public link to your scheduling page ready. This is the page where people already choose a time with you.
  • Book Appointment publishes from Website Widgets Starter. On Free you can add it and fill it in, but the row is marked Preview only and visitors do not see it. See Premium Channel Previews.
  • The widget itself has to be published and installed on your site. See Create A Website Widget.

Set Up The Channel

  1. Open Website Widgets in the dashboard sidebar, open your website, and go to the Channels tab.
  2. In the Channel Builder card, click Add Channel. Under Conversion, click Add next to Book Appointment. If the widget already has this channel, the same click opens its editor.
  3. Paste your scheduling link into Booking URL. It has to be a public web address. If you leave out the https:// at the start, it is added when you save.
  4. Set the Button Label. It starts as "Choose a time".
  5. Write an Intro note: one or two sentences shown above the button, such as what the appointment covers and how long it takes.
  6. Optional: under Presentation, change the Channel Title and add a Description for the row in the channel list.
  7. Click Save as Draft, then Publish changes.

You can save a draft before you have the booking link, but the channel cannot be published without it. Saving a draft never changes your site: the channel goes live only when you click Publish changes.

Intro Heading And Intro NoteThe panel shows one line of intro text above the button. That line is your Intro note. When Intro note is empty, the Intro heading is shown in its place, and it starts as "Book a call". Write the Intro note if you want your own wording there.

What Visitors See

In the channel list, the row reads "Book Appointment" with "Choose a time" under it, unless you set your own Channel Title or Description. Tapping the row opens a panel with your intro text and the button. A small line under the button says "Opens in a new tab."

Pressing the button opens your scheduling page in a new browser tab. Your website stays open in the original tab, so the visitor can come back to it when the booking is done.

What The Hand-Off Does Not Do

  • It does not place a calendar or a list of available times inside the widget.
  • It does not pass the visitor’s name or other details to the scheduling page.
  • It does not record the booking in Flidu. Confirmations, reminders and cancellations belong to your scheduling page.
  • It does not follow your Business Hours channel: the booking row is not hidden outside the hours listed there.

From Website Widgets Starter, analytics count clicks on the Booking channel. A click means a visitor pressed the option, not that a booking was completed. See Channel Performance.

If It Does Not Behave As Expected

  • The row is missing from the widget. Check its row in the Channel Builder. Draft means it was never published, Off means it was published and then turned off, and Preview only means the current plan does not include it.
  • The draft will not save. The Booking URL has to be a public web address. A phone number or an email address is not accepted here. Button Label and Intro heading cannot be left empty.
  • The button opens the wrong page. Open the channel, correct the Booking URL, click Save as Draft, then Publish changes. The live widget keeps the old link until you publish, and the row reads Live · edited while changes are waiting.
  • The row says "This feature is temporarily unavailable." The workspace has gone far past its monthly visitor allowance. The channel returns after an upgrade or when the period resets. See Widget Limits And Visitor Counting.
  • You want two booking rows, for example Sales and Support. Open the channel and click Duplicate saved draft to create a second one. A second Book Appointment channel in the same widget can be published from Business.
