Date Scheduling And Days & Hours Targeting

Date Scheduling runs a widget inside a date range, and Days & Hours Targeting shows or hides it on chosen days and hours in a time zone you pick. Both are included from Website Widgets Business.

Two scheduling settings control when a widget’s Contact side appears. Date Scheduling works with a start and an end date. Days & Hours Targeting works with a weekly pattern of days and hours. You can use either one, or both together.

Where To Find Them And Which Plans Include Them

In the dashboard, open Website Widgets, open the website, and select the Visibility & Targeting tab. Both cards are in the Scheduling group. If the website has several widgets, choose the widget first in the Website Widgets card on the Overview tab.

Both settings are included on Website Widgets Business and Agency, and on Enterprise they follow your agreement. On Free, Starter and Pro you can set them up and save them as a draft, but not publish them: each card shows an Included from Business badge and an Upgrade button. They follow your Website Widgets plan, not your AI Chatbot plan. See Pricing.

Run The Widget Inside A Date Range

  1. On the Date Scheduling card, click Configure, or Edit if that is what the button reads.
  2. Under Schedule, choose Active in Range to show the widget only between the dates, or Hidden in Range to hide it between them. Always Active switches the schedule off.
  3. Set Start Date and End Date. Each takes a date and a time. Leave one empty for an open-ended schedule: a start date alone means from then on, and an end date alone means until then.
  4. Read the sentence under the dates, for example "The widget will be visible from Dec 1, 2026 to Dec 24, 2026."
  5. Click Save Changes, then Publish Changes on the card or Publish at the foot of the tab.

Dates are shown in your browser’s time zone and stored in UTC, so the range starts and ends at the same moment for every visitor, wherever they are. The end date must be after the start date. A date range runs once; it does not repeat each year.

Show Or Hide The Widget By Day And Hour

  1. On the Days & Hours Targeting card, click Configure or Edit.
  2. Under Visibility, choose Show During Hours or Hide During Hours.
  3. Under Days, click the days the schedule covers.
  4. Choose a Start Time and an End Time, in half-hour steps. Pick 24:00 (end of day) as the end time to run until midnight, or turn on Show 24 Hours to cover the whole of each selected day.
  5. Set the Time zone. It starts on UTC, so change it to your own zone or click Use my time zone.
  6. Read the sentence below, for example "The widget is shown Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, 09:00–17:00."
  7. Click Save Changes, then Publish Changes on the card or Publish at the foot of the tab.

Saving a change in this editor switches the setting on in your draft. To switch it off again, use the switch on the card, then publish.

Different Hours On Different Days

Click Set different hours per day to give each day its own times. Add range adds a time range to a day, and a day with no range has no hours selected: the editor marks it "Closed all day." A day can hold more than one range, which suits a split day such as a morning and an evening. A range cannot run past midnight: for a late-night schedule, end one day’s range just before midnight and start another at 00:00 on the next day. Use the same hours for every selected day returns to the simple view and applies one range to all of those days.

How The Schedule Is Checked

  • Days & Hours Targeting uses the time zone in its own Time zone field. It does not use each visitor’s local time.
  • The schedule is checked when a visitor loads a page. A page that is already open does not change when the hour passes, so the switch happens on the visitor’s next page load.
  • An end time is the moment the range stops. A range ending at 17:00 covers 16:59 but not 17:00.
  • If both scheduling settings are on, both must allow the widget, along with every other rule that is switched on across the tab.

What Visitors See When A Schedule Hides The Widget

While a schedule hides the widget, visitors do not get its Contact side, so none of its contact channels are offered. If the widget has no Ask AI, nothing appears, launcher included. If an AI assistant is connected to the same widget and Ask AI is available, the launcher stays and opens Ask AI only. Ask AI does not follow these schedules.

This Is A Display ScheduleDays & Hours Targeting controls when the widget appears. It does not represent staff availability, and it is separate from the Business Hours channel, which displays your opening hours inside the widget. Changing one does not change the other. See FAQ, Business Hours, And Resources.

If The Schedule Does Not Behave As Expected

  • The hours look shifted: check the Time zone field. A schedule left on UTC runs on UTC time.
  • The editor says "Add at least one time range." or "Set a start date, an end date, or both.": the setting is switched on but empty.
  • The editor says "Each range must end after it starts. Overnight ranges are not supported.": split the range across two days.
  • The card reads Draft changes: the schedule is saved but not live. Click Publish Changes.
  • You edited a schedule that was already live: after Save Changes, click Publish at the foot of the tab.
  • The launcher still appears while the schedule hides the widget: it is opening Ask AI.
