Contact Form And Guided Form
Set up the Contact Form and Guided Form channels, see what visitors fill in, learn where each submission is sent, and check which Website Widgets plan each form needs.
Flidu has two channels that collect a written enquiry inside the widget. The Contact Form is a fixed short form: name, email, message and an optional phone number. The Guided Form asks your own questions one at a time. Both are built in the Channel Builder, and both send each submission to you by email.
Plans And Where Submissions Go
| Channel | Shown To Visitors From | Notification Email Goes To |
|---|---|---|
| Contact Form | Website Widgets Starter | The Notification email set on that form |
| Guided Form | Website Widgets Pro | The Notification Email on the website’s Settings tab |
On a lower plan you can still add and fill in either form. Its row is marked Preview only, and visitors do not see it until the workspace is on a plan that includes it and you publish it. Forms follow the Website Widgets plan only: an AI Chatbot plan does not unlock them. See Premium Channel Previews.
Below Business, a submission reaches you as the notification email only. From Business, each accepted submission is also kept as a record in the Data Hub, where it can be exported: see Records And Submissions. The visitor gets a confirmation on screen. Flidu does not email them a copy or an automatic reply.
Set Up A Contact Form
- Open Website Widgets, open your website, and go to the Channels tab. Click Add Channel, then Add next to Contact Form under Direct Contact. If the widget already has a Contact Form, the same click opens its editor.
- Enter the Notification email. Each form takes one address, and it is required before the form can be published.
- Edit the Success Message if you want different wording after a send.
- Switch on Phone Field to ask for a phone number, and tick Make phone required if visitors must fill it in.
- Leave Make Message Required on, so every submission arrives with a message.
- Click Save as Draft, then Publish changes.
Name and Email are always shown and always required, and no other fields can be added. Spam protection is built in and always on, with nothing for visitors to solve. Replying to a notification email goes straight to the visitor.
What Visitors See In The Contact Form
Visitors open the form from its row in the widget, fill in Name, Email and Message, plus Phone if you switched it on, and press Send Message. The Message field has a short minimum length, and a counter under the box shows how far along the visitor is. If something is missing or invalid, a short message appears above the button and what the visitor typed is kept.
After a successful send, your Success Message replaces the form, followed by a fixed second line: "We’ll get back to you as soon as possible." Keep your own wording consistent with that line.
Set Up A Guided Form
- On the Channels tab, click Add Channel, then Add next to Guided Form under Conversion.
- Enter a Form Title, which becomes the heading of the form, and a Success Message. Keep the success message to a sentence or two.
- Optional: write an Intro. Visitors read it first and press Start to begin.
- Under Questions, click Add Question. A new form starts with no questions, and it needs at least one before it can be published.
- For each question, enter the Question Label, pick a Field Type, add optional Helper Text, and set Required on or off. Single choice and Multiple choice questions need at least two options.
- Click Back to list, drag the questions into order, click Save as Draft, then Publish changes.
The field types are Short text, Long text, Email, Phone, Number, Single choice, Multiple choice and Date. Every visitor gets the same questions in the same order.
What Visitors See In The Guided Form
Visitors answer one question at a time. Each step shows a count such as "Question 2 of 5", whether the answer is Required or Optional, and your helper text. They can go back, press Skip on optional questions, press Continue to move on, and press Submit Request on the last step. The form ends with "Thanks!" and your Success Message.
If A Form Does Not Behave As Expected
- The form is not in the widget. Check its row in the Channel Builder. Draft means it was never published, Off means it was published and then turned off, and Preview only means the current plan does not include it.
- No notification arrives. For a Contact Form, check the Notification email in its editor. For a Guided Form, check the Notification Email on the website’s Settings tab. Then follow I Am Not Receiving Form Submissions.
- Your own test submission does not reach you. Test on your live website: forms accept submissions only from the website domain set for the widget. Leave a minute or so between your own test submissions.
- The form shows as temporarily unavailable. When the workspace goes far past its monthly visitor allowance, forms pause until you upgrade or the period resets. See Widget Limits And Visitor Counting.
- You need two forms of the same kind in one widget. Open the existing form and click Duplicate saved draft. The copy is a draft on any plan, and a second Contact Form or Guided Form in the same widget can be published from Business. Each Contact Form keeps its own Notification email.
