Workspaces & Team Access

I Need To Transfer Ownership Or Remove A Workspace

Only the Owner can do either. Ownership moves at once to a member who has already joined. Removal is a request the Flidu team reviews, and the workspace stays active until it is decided.

Both actions belong to the workspace Owner. Transferring ownership hands the workspace to another member and takes effect immediately. Removing a workspace is a request that the Flidu team reviews, and nothing is deleted when you submit it. This article covers both, and what to settle first.

Which One Do You Need

Before You Start

  • You must be the Owner. An Admin or Viewer is not offered either action. Check your role on the Team page.
  • You verify again. Each action ends with a Verify It’s You dialog. You can confirm with your authenticator app, your passkey or a fresh 6-digit code sent to your sign-in email. If two-factor protection is on, the email code is followed by your second factor. Recovery codes cannot be used, and a session opened with a recovery code cannot do either action.
  • Settle billing first. Neither action changes the plan or the payment method on file. Do what you need on the Billing page while you still have access to it.

Transfer Ownership

The new Owner has to be an active member of the workspace: someone who has already accepted an invitation, as an Admin or a Viewer. If nobody else has joined, Transfer Ownership is greyed out with the note “Add another active member first.” Inviting someone needs a free seat, which means Pro or higher on either product line. See Invite Teammates And Roles.

  1. Open Team in the sidebar. You can also start in Workspace Settings, where the Danger Zone has a Transfer Ownership button that opens the Team page.
  2. Under Active Members, open the menu on the member’s row and choose Transfer Ownership.
  3. Check the member shown under Transfer Workspace Ownership and select Continue.
  4. Read the warning, tick the box that says you understand ownership and billing responsibility may move to the new Owner, and type TRANSFER in the confirmation field.
  5. Select Transfer Ownership, complete Verify It’s You and select Continue.
  6. Wait for Ownership Transferred, then select Done.

What Changes After A Transfer

  • The member you chose is now the only Owner, with billing access.
  • You become an Admin with billing access off, so Billing is no longer in your sidebar. You keep your seat.
  • There is no acceptance step for the new Owner and no waiting period. The change is immediate.
  • The payment method on file is not changed by the transfer. The new Owner can update it under Payment Settings on the Billing page.
  • To step out afterwards, choose Leave Workspace on your own row of the Team page.

If the dialog shows Transfer Didn’t Complete, the transfer could not be confirmed. Check who the Owner is on the Team page before you select Try Again.

Request Workspace Removal

A workspace cannot be deleted instantly. You send a request, and the workspace keeps working while it is reviewed.

  1. Open Workspace Settings and scroll to the Danger Zone.
  2. Beside Request Workspace Removal, select Request Removal.
  3. Enter a Reason of at least 10 characters and tick the acknowledgement.
  4. Select Continue to Verification, complete Verify It’s You and select Continue.
  5. The dialog shows Request Received with the status Pending Review. Select Done.

While the request is under review, Workspace Settings shows Removal Requested. The workspace stays fully active: its widgets, records, team and billing stay exactly as they are. Flidu emails the decision to your sign-in address.

Cancel A Removal Request

If you change your mind, open Workspace Settings and select Cancel Request on the Removal Requested notice. The page confirms that the request was cancelled and that the workspace stays active. You can do this until Flidu has made its decision.

What A Removal Request Does Not Do

What A Correct Result Looks Like

After a transfer, the Team page shows the new Owner with the Owner badge and shows you as Admin with Billing access off. After a removal request, Workspace Settings shows Removal Requested until Flidu emails you the outcome.
