I Want To Delete My Data Or Account
You can delete websites, widgets and AI sources yourself. A workspace is removed through a request that Flidu reviews, and your personal account through Flidu support. Here is each path.
Deleting in Flidu works at four levels: single items inside a workspace, stored records, a whole workspace, and your personal account. You delete single items yourself. A workspace and an account are requests, because they cannot be undone and Flidu reviews them first. Find the row for what you want to remove.
Find The Right Path
| What You Want To Remove | How | Who Can Do It |
|---|---|---|
| A website and everything in it | Delete Site on the widget’s Settings tab | Owner or Admin |
| One widget | Delete on the widget’s Overview tab | Owner or Admin |
| An AI data source or one indexed page | Remove or Ignore on the assistant’s Data Sources tab | Owner or Admin |
| An AI Chatbot | Archive AI Chatbot on the assistant’s Settings tab | Owner or Admin |
| One stored record | Not possible from the dashboard. Records leave on their Retained until date. | Ask Flidu if it has to go sooner |
| A whole workspace | Request Removal in Workspace Settings | Owner |
| Your place in someone else’s workspace | Leave Workspace on the Team page | You |
| Your personal account | Contact Support in Profile Settings | You |
Remove Things Inside A Workspace
These actions take effect straight away.
- A website. Open one of its widgets, go to the Settings tab and find the Danger Zone. Delete Site asks you to confirm, then permanently deletes the site and all associated data. It cannot be undone.
- A widget. On the Overview tab, select the widget in the Website Widgets card and choose Delete. The widget and its embed configuration are removed, and the site’s other widgets are not affected. A website’s default widget cannot be deleted.
- AI content. On the assistant’s Data Sources tab, Remove takes out a source together with the content indexed from it. Ignore stops Ask AI using a single page, as described in I Need To Stop Ask AI Using A Page.
- An AI Chatbot. Assistants are archived, not deleted. Archive AI Chatbot, in the Danger Zone of the assistant’s Settings tab, disconnects it so Ask AI stops appearing for visitors. Its indexed pages, chat logs and records are kept, and you can restore it.
After you delete a website or a widget, take its install snippet off your pages.
Stored Records And Chat Logs
Form records in the Data Hub and conversations in Chat Logs are kept for a period set by your plan. Each stored record shows a Retained until date when you open it. Records cannot be edited or deleted one at a time from the dashboard.
- To keep a copy before records go, create an export on the Data Hub Exports tab. Exports are for Owners and Admins on Business and higher.
- If one record has to be removed sooner, for example because a visitor asked you to delete their details, contact Flidu; the form opens with the topic Legal chosen.
- On Website Widgets Starter and Pro, a form submission reaches you by email only and Flidu stores no record of it. The copy to delete is the one in your mailbox.
The periods for each plan are in Retention By Plan.
Remove A Workspace
A workspace is removed through a request that only the Owner can send. Open Workspace Settings, find the Danger Zone and select Request Removal. You give a short reason, tick the acknowledgement and complete a Verify It’s You step. Nothing is removed when you submit: the workspace stays fully active while the Flidu team reviews the request, and you can select Cancel Request until a decision is made. The full steps are in I Need To Transfer Ownership Or Remove A Workspace.
Sending the request does not cancel a paid plan. If the workspace has a plan you do not want to renew, use Cancel Plan on the Billing page first. The plan then stays active until the end of the billing period.
Leave A Workspace You Were Invited To
If the workspace belongs to someone else, you do not delete anything. Open Team, find your own row and choose Leave Workspace. You lose access and need a new invitation to come back. The workspace and its data stay with its Owner. An Owner cannot leave until ownership has been transferred.
Remove Your Personal Account
Your account is your sign-in identity in every workspace. It cannot be removed from the dashboard.
- Open the account menu at the top of the dashboard and choose Profile Settings.
- Scroll to the Account Removal row near the bottom of the page and select Contact Support.
- On the contact form, choose the topic Legal, give the email address on your account, and say that you want the account removed.
Account removal is handled with the support team and follows the data-retention policy. Before you write, decide what should happen to each workspace you own: hand it to another member with an ownership transfer, or send a removal request for it. Cancel any paid plan you do not want to renew.
What Flidu May Keep
Removing something from your dashboard does not always erase every trace at once. Some information may be retained for billing, legal, fraud-prevention, security, backup or operational reasons, as the Privacy Policy explains. More detail on each case is in Data Retention And Deletion.
What A Correct Result Looks Like
- A deleted website no longer appears under Website Widgets.
- An archived assistant no longer shows Ask AI to your visitors.
- A workspace with a request under review shows Removal Requested in Workspace Settings until Flidu emails you the outcome.
- A workspace you left is gone from your workspace switcher.
