Data Retention And Deletion
How long Flidu keeps analytics, chat logs and stored records on each plan, what you can remove yourself in the dashboard, and what is handled as a request to the Flidu team.
How long visitor data stays available in Flidu depends on your plan. When that period ends, the data leaves your dashboard. Some things you can remove yourself at any time, such as a website, a widget or an AI data source. Others, such as a whole workspace or your personal account, go through a request. This page covers each case.
How Long Flidu Keeps Data
Website Widgets and AI Chatbot each follow their own plan. A plan on one product line does not change retention on the other, and Bundle & Save changes price only.

Retention By Plan goes through these periods in more detail, and plan prices are on Pricing.
What Happens When The Period Ends
Every stored record in the Data Hub shows a Retained until date when you open it. For a form record, that date is fixed when the submission is received: the time it arrived plus the period of your plan at that moment. Once the date passes, the record is no longer available in the Data Hub or to exports, and it cannot be brought back from the dashboard. Conversations leave Chat Logs the same way.
When stored form records are getting close to their date, Flidu sends the workspace Owner and Admins a reminder email. To keep a copy, create an export from the Data Hub Exports tab before the date. Export files are themselves kept for a limited time and then expire, so download them when they are ready. See Exports.
What You Can Remove Yourself
The workspace actions below are for the Owner and Admins unless the table says otherwise; a Viewer has read-only access. Sign-in methods and sessions are personal, so every member manages their own.
| Item | Where | What Happens |
|---|---|---|
| A website | Open one of its widgets, then the Settings tab, Danger Zone, Delete Site | Permanently deletes the website and the data associated with it, including its widgets and its stored form records. It cannot be undone. |
| A widget | Overview tab, Website Widgets card, Delete | Removes the widget and its embed configuration. The default widget of a website cannot be deleted. Records already stored from the widget stay until their Retained until date. |
| An AI data source | The assistant’s Data Sources tab, Remove | Removes the source and the content indexed from it. Wait for a queued or running crawl of that source to finish first. |
| One indexed page | The assistant’s Data Sources tab, under Indexed Content, Ignore | Ask AI stops using the page in answers. Include again brings it back; if the dashboard says so, index the source again before the page is used. |
| A teammate | Team page, Remove From Workspace (Owner) | The person loses access to the workspace. |
| A sign-in method or session | Profile Settings | Removes a passkey or authenticator app, disconnects Google, or signs a device out. |
An AI Chatbot itself is archived, not deleted. Archive AI Chatbot, in the Danger Zone of the assistant’s Settings tab, disconnects it and stops Ask AI appearing for visitors. Its indexed pages, chat logs and records are kept, it no longer counts toward your AI Chatbot plan, and Restore AI Chatbot brings it back.
What Is Handled As A Request
- A single stored record. Records in the Data Hub cannot be edited or deleted one by one. They leave when their date passes. If one has to go sooner, for example because a visitor asked you, contact the Flidu team through the Contact page.
- A workspace. There is no instant delete. The Owner sends a removal request, described below.
- Your personal account. In Profile Settings, the Account Removal row has a Contact Support button. Account removal is handled with the support team and follows the retention policy.
Request Workspace Removal
- As the Owner, open Workspace Settings and find the Danger Zone.
- Click Request Workspace Removal, enter a short reason and tick the acknowledgement.
- Click Continue to Verification and complete the Verify It’s You step.
- The dialog shows Request Received with the status Pending Review.
Nothing is removed when you submit. The workspace is marked Removal Requested and stays fully available to your team while the Flidu team reviews it. You can use Cancel Request until a decision is made, and you are emailed the outcome either way. More detail is in I Need To Transfer Ownership Or Remove A Workspace.
Before You Delete Anything
- Export first. On Business and higher, export the records you want to keep.
- Consider switching off instead. A website can be switched off, an additional widget moved to draft, a channel turned off and an assistant paused or archived, all without losing their setup. See Pause Or Unpublish A Widget.
- Remove the snippet. After deleting a website or widget, take its install snippet off your pages.
Some information may be kept for billing, legal, security or backup reasons after other data is removed. The Privacy Policy describes this, and I Want To Delete My Data Or Account walks through the common requests.
