Review Links And Custom Links
Send visitors to your review pages with Leave a Review, and add your own web link, call button or email button with Custom Link. Both can be published on Website Widgets Free.
Two channels take visitors out of the widget to a destination you choose. Leave a Review opens your page on a review platform. Custom Link opens a web page, starts a phone call or opens a new email. Both can be published on every Website Widgets plan, including Free, within the limits below.
Where To Find Them
Open Website Widgets in the dashboard sidebar, open your website, and go to the Channels tab. In the Channel Builder card, click Add Channel. Leave a Review and Custom Link are both listed under Social & Links: click Add next to the one you want. When the channel is filled in, click Save as Draft, then Publish changes. Nothing reaches your site until you publish.
Set Up Leave A Review
The editor lists four built-in platforms under Review Platforms: Google Reviews, Trustpilot, G2 and Capterra. Each one reads Not set up until you add your link.
- Click Edit on the platform you use.
- Paste the address of your review page into Review link. It has to be a public web address.
- Keep or change the Title, which starts as the platform’s name, and add an optional Short description.
- Click Back to list. Repeat for any other platform, drag the rows into order, and use the switch on a row to hide a platform without deleting it.
- For a review site that is not built in, click Add Custom Platform and fill in Review site name, Title, Review link and an Icon.
- Click Save as Draft, then Publish changes.
| Website Widgets Plan | Built-In Platforms Live | Custom Platforms Live |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 | None |
| Starter, Pro, Business, Agency | All 4 | Up to 5 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom |
On Free you can set up more platforms as a draft, but only one may be switched on when you publish. With one platform live, the Leave a Review row opens your review page directly in a new tab. With two or more, the row opens a list: each entry shows its Title with the platform name under it, and tapping an entry opens that review page in a new tab.
The channel is a link to the platform. The review itself is written and published there, not in Flidu. To collect private ratings inside the widget, use the separate Feedback channel.
Set Up A Custom Link
- In the Add a Channel drawer, click Add next to Custom Link.
- Enter a Display label. It is required and is the text visitors read on the row, for example "Visit our help center" or "Call now".
- Optional: add a Description, shown as the line under the label.
- Fill in Link URL with a web address, a phone number or an email address. The table below shows what each one does.
- For a web address, tick or clear Open in new tab.
- Under Preset icon, choose Preset Icon and pick one, such as Phone or Mail, or choose Upload Image to use a PNG, JPG or WEBP of your own.
- Click Save as Draft, then Publish changes.
| What You Type In Link URL | What Happens When A Visitor Taps |
|---|---|
| A web address, such as https://example.com | The page opens, in a new tab when Open in new tab is ticked |
| A phone number, such as +1 555 123 4567 | The visitor’s phone app opens, ready to call that number |
| An email address, such as hello@example.com | The visitor’s email app opens with a new message to that address |
A phone number needs 6 to 15 digits, and an email target is one address with no subject line. When you type a phone number or an email address, the editor confirms under the field what the link will do. In the widget, the line under your label is the Description. Without one it reads "Call", "Send email" or "Visit link".
Custom Link Limits By Plan
- One Custom Link per widget can be published on every plan, including Free. Its Display label is always yours to write.
- More than one live Custom Link in the same widget needs Business or higher. Below Business, a call button and an email button cannot both be live in one widget.
- To create another Custom Link, open the existing one and click Duplicate saved draft. Add Channel opens the one you already have.
- An uploaded icon image can be published from Starter. On Free, use a preset icon.
- Changing the Channel Title of Leave a Review needs Starter or higher. Compare plans on Pricing.
If Something Does Not Work
- The row is missing from the widget. Check the channel’s row in the Channel Builder. Draft means it was never published, and Off means it was published and then turned off. If the row is in the widget but shows old details, Live · edited means newer changes are waiting for Publish changes.
- The draft will not save. Every review platform in the list needs a Review link and a Title, and a custom platform also needs a Review site name, so remove a platform you opened but do not use. A Custom Link needs a Display label and a valid Link URL.
- Publishing is refused. Leave a Review needs at least one platform switched on.
- You see "Publish blocked". Most often the draft uses something the current plan does not include: more review platforms switched on than the plan allows, a custom review platform or an uploaded icon on Free, or a second Custom Link below Business.
- A link is refused. A Review link has to be a public web address. For a Custom Link, read the message under Link URL: it says which form is expected.
- You cannot add one more channel. See I Cannot Add Another Channel.
