Widget Not Appearing

My Widget Shows On The Wrong Pages

A widget loads on every page that carries its snippet unless a published Page Targeting rule says otherwise. Check that the rule is published, included in your plan, and matches the page path.

A Flidu widget appears wherever two things are true: the page carries the widget’s snippet, and no published rule hides it there. When it shows on a page where you do not want it, or stays away from a page where you do, one of those two is not what you expect. The checks below start with the most common cause.

When The Widget Shows Where It Should Not

In the dashboard, open Website Widgets, choose the website, and open the Visibility & Targeting tab. Find the Page Targeting card and read its status.

  1. The rule is saved but not published. A card that reads Draft changes holds a rule that visitors do not see yet. Click Publish Changes on the card, or Publish at the foot of the tab. An edit to a rule that is already Active also waits in the draft until you click Publish.
  2. Your plan does not publish Page Targeting. Page Targeting is included from Website Widgets Pro. On Free and Starter the card reads Preview only or Preview · Draft only, with an Included from Pro badge. You can save the rule, but it does not go live until the workspace is on Website Widgets Pro or higher. Pricing has the plan comparison.
  3. The condition does not match the address. Matching uses the path only, the part of the address after your domain. The domain, and anything after a ?, are ignored. Exactly matches /pricing does not match /pricing/ or /Pricing. A new condition starts as Starts with /, which matches every page until you replace it.
  4. The condition matches more than you meant. Starts with /blog also covers /blog-archive, and Contains matches the text anywhere in the path. A page matches as soon as any one condition matches.
  5. The mode is the reverse of what you want. Under Where Should This Widget Appear?, Only Matching shows the widget on the listed pages and hides it everywhere else. Hide on Matching does the opposite. The Summary line in the editor states the result in plain words.
  6. Only the launcher is left, and it opens Ask AI. Rules hide the Contact side of a widget. If an AI assistant is connected to the same widget and Ask AI is published, the launcher stays on the hidden pages and opens Ask AI only.
  7. The rule is temporarily limited. A card that reads Temporarily limited means this month’s visitors have passed the point where premium Website Widgets features are temporarily unavailable. The widget is shown without the rule until the usage period resets or you upgrade. See My Widget Reached Its Monthly Visitor Limit.
Rules Are Checked When A Page LoadsReload the page before you judge a change. A page that is already open keeps the result it loaded with.

When The Widget Is Missing From A Page

  • The snippet is not on that page. View the page source and search for widget.js. A site-wide code area covers every page. A page-level code area covers that page only.
  • An Only Matching rule leaves the page out. Add a condition for the page, click Save Changes, then publish.
  • Another rule hides it. Every rule that is switched on must pass together: device, traffic source, date, days and hours, and country, as well as page. Look at each card marked Active. Country Targeting is published from its own card.
  • You are looking at another widget’s rules. Rules belong to one widget. If the website has several widgets, choose the widget in the Website Widgets card on the Overview tab before you open Visibility & Targeting, and check that its snippet is the one on the page.

When A Page Should Carry No Widget At All

A Page Targeting rule hides the Contact side of the widget. When an AI assistant is connected to the same widget and Ask AI is published, the launcher stays on the hidden pages and opens Ask AI. A page is certain to show nothing from Flidu only when it does not carry the snippet, because the widget loads only on pages that carry it.

To keep one page completely clear while a rule covers the rest, leave the snippet off that page. Page-Specific Widgets For Campaigns walks through a widget made for a single page, and Show Widgets By Page Or Device covers the rule editor in full.

What A Correct Result Looks Like

  • The Page Targeting card reads Active.
  • The line at the foot of the tab reads “Your live widget is using the published settings.” If you saved an edit after you last published, click Publish once more.
  • After a reload, the widget appears on the pages your rule allows and on no others.

Check one page that should show the widget and one that should not. If the rule involves a device, repeat the check in a phone-sized window, because the device type is read from the width of the browser window when the page loads.
