Create And Manage Multiple Widgets

Add more widgets to a website, duplicate one you already built, and rename, reorder, publish or delete them. Each widget has its own snippet, channels and appearance.

A website in Flidu can hold more than one Website Widget. Each widget has its own install snippet, its own channels, its own appearance and its own visibility settings, so different pages can carry different contact options. Every widget in the workspace draws on the same pool of published and draft slots.

Where Widgets Are Managed

Open Website Widgets in the dashboard sidebar, open your website, and stay on the Overview tab. The card titled Website Widgets holds the widget selector, the actions for the selected widget and the usage tiles.

The selector lists every widget on the website with its internal name and a Published or Draft badge. The website’s first widget is tagged default. Choosing a widget switches the whole page to it, so the Channels, Appearance, Visibility & Targeting and Install tabs all show that widget.

Add A New Widget

  1. Open the widget selector and click Add Widget.
  2. Enter an Internal Name. It shows only in the dashboard, so name the widget after its job, for example the page it will sit on.
  3. Edit the Public Title if you want. Visitors read it in the widget’s header, and it starts as "Contact Us".
  4. Click Create and Publish to use a published slot now, or Create as Draft to keep the widget off your site while you build it.

A new widget starts clean: no channels, the default appearance, and its own snippet on the Install tab. Add channels on the Channels tab, where each channel is saved as a draft and then published. Create A Website Widget covers that part step by step.

Duplicate An Existing Widget

Select the widget you want to copy and click Duplicate, either in the Website Widgets card or at the top of the page. The Duplicate Widget dialog shows the widget you are copying, suggests a New Internal Name ending in "(Copy)", and offers Duplicate as Draft and Duplicate and Publish.

Part Of The WidgetWhat The Copy Gets
Appearance: brand color, theme, position and the icon color settingCopied and applied straight away
Channel Builder channels and their orderCopied as drafts. Nothing is live in the copy until you publish each channel again
Channel sectionsCopied as drafts
Visibility & Targeting settings, including Country TargetingCopied as saved settings that are not published
Connected AI ChatbotNot copied
Analytics and install statusNot copied. The copy starts with none

The copy is an independent widget with a new snippet. Changing it never changes the widget it came from. If the source widget still has channels listed under Original channels on its Channels tab, those are copied as they are, including whether they are switched on.

Rename, Reorder, And Delete

  • Rename changes the internal name only. The snippet stays the same, so nothing has to be pasted again. To change what visitors read, edit Widget Title on the Appearance tab.
  • Reorder appears once the website has two or more widgets. It opens a Widget Order list where you drag widgets by their grips. The order affects the dashboard only.
  • Delete removes the selected widget after you confirm with Delete Widget. Its snippet then loads nothing, so take that snippet off your site. The default widget cannot be deleted.

Publish Or Move A Widget To Draft

The first action in the card reads Publish for a draft widget and Move to Draft for a published one. A draft widget loads nothing on your site, even where its snippet is installed. Publishing needs a free published slot, and moving to draft needs a free draft slot. Once the default widget is published, it cannot be moved back to draft. Pause Or Unpublish A Widget compares this with the other ways to take a widget offline.

Slots And Plan Limits

The tiles in the Website Widgets card show Websites, Published Widgets, Draft Widgets and Monthly Visitors for the whole workspace, with a line underneath for this website alone.

On Free the single published slot belongs to your first widget, so a second widget can only be a draft. When no slot of the kind you asked for is free, a Widget limit reached dialog shows what is used against the limit. Free a slot by deleting a widget or changing its state, or compare plans on Pricing. Widget Limits And Visitor Counting explains how slots and visitors are counted.

Running Two Widgets On One Website

A widget appears only on pages that carry its own snippet. If two widgets load on the same page, each draws its own launcher in its own corner, and two launchers set to the same corner sit on top of each other. Give each widget its own pages, or rules that never overlap. Page-Specific Widgets For Campaigns shows both ways.

If Something Does Not Work

  • The duplicate shows no channels on your site. Its channels arrived as drafts. Open each one on the Channels tab and click Publish changes.
  • Move to Draft or Delete is greyed out. The selected widget is the default one. A published default widget stays published, and the default widget cannot be deleted.
  • Add Widget ends with Widget limit reached. Both buttons need a free slot of their own kind. Try the other state, or free a slot first.
  • You can open the page but nothing can be changed. Managing widgets needs the Owner or Admin role. A Viewer can look but not edit.
