Answer Intelligence And Context Assist
Answer Intelligence is a group of optional settings on paid AI Chatbot plans. Context Assist, the main one, lets Ask AI draw on more of your indexed content for each answer.
Answer Intelligence is a section of an assistant’s settings that changes how Ask AI uses your indexed sources before it answers. It holds three switches: Context Assist, Fresh Page Check and Visual Source Cards. This guide explains what each one does, with most attention on Context Assist.
Where To Find Answer Intelligence
In the dashboard, open AI Chatbots, choose your assistant, and open the Settings tab. Answer Intelligence is the fourth section, after Tone and Answer Style. Your AI Chatbot plan is shown beside the heading. The workspace Owner and Admins can change these settings.
The Three Settings
| Setting | What It Does | New Assistant |
|---|---|---|
| Context Assist | Lets Ask AI use broader indexed context for an answer. | Off |
| Fresh Page Check | Can re-read the page behind an answer before replying, which may slow the reply. See Fresh Page Check. | Off |
| Visual Source Cards | Shows the Sources list under answers. It is the same setting as Source Cards in the Source References section. See Suggested Questions And Source Cards. | On |
How Context Assist Works
For each question, Flidu finds the passages in your indexed content that match it best and gives them to Ask AI to answer from. With Context Assist off, a paid assistant answers from the standard amount of matched content, while keeping the answer quality and length of its plan. With Context Assist on, Ask AI can draw on more of the matched content for each answer, within what your plan allows.
- It is most likely to help when an answer is spread over several pages or sections, for example a question that touches both a service page and a policy page.
- It is likely to change little for short factual questions that one passage already answers.
- It only widens what is read. Ask AI still answers from your indexed sources. Context Assist adds no content of its own.
Turn On Context Assist
- Open the assistant’s Settings tab and find Answer Intelligence.
- Turn on the Context Assist switch.
- Select Save changes, below the Custom Instructions section.
The setting is saved for that assistant only and applies from the next question, for visitors and in the Preview tab. There is nothing to publish. To judge the difference, ask the same multi-part question in Preview before and after you turn it on. Preview questions count toward your monthly AI messages.
Plan Availability And Message Usage
Answer Intelligence starts from AI Chatbot Starter. On AI Chatbot Free each row shows a Starter+ label in place of the switch, with the note “Answer Intelligence starts from AI Chatbot Starter. Free includes the standard answer mode.” and an Upgrade AI Chatbot link. Source Cards stay available on Free through the Source Cards switch in Source References. Pricing compares the plans.
A question counts as one AI message whether these settings are on or off. Free uses Claude Haiku 5.5; paid public plans use GPT-6 Luna. Your plan sets message, answer-length and source-context allowances. The assistant’s Usage tab shows the plan label under AI Model Quality. Context Assist does not select a stronger model.
If Answers Do Not Improve
- The content is not indexed. Context Assist can only use what the assistant has learned. Check the Indexed Content list as described in Review Indexed Pages.
- The change was not saved. A switch takes effect only after Save changes.
- The assistant is on AI Chatbot Free. The Answer Intelligence switches are locked and Free answers in the standard mode.
- The indexed copy is out of date. Recrawl the source. Fresh Page Check can help between recrawls on pages that change often.
- The fact sits in a header or footer. Flidu reads the main page text, so add the fact to the body of a page.
